british aristocracy & ancestors

So this is Fanny Bostock. Our ancestor.

Fanny lived in Cliffe Park, built for her by her cousin, John Haworth. Seems they were madly in love but couldn't marry, either because he was already married or because this was about the time of Darwin's discoveries and quite suddenly it was uncool to marry first cousins. how scandalous.

(this is Cliffe Park)

Cliffe Park is on Rudyard Lake, which is quite lovely.

(about Cliffe Park)

A neat tidbit to finish up my fascination with Fanny Bostock of Cliffe Park.
Fanny's descendants had a world famous menagerie!
