so for matriculation, you have to wear the oxford sub-fusc (as pictured in earlier postings). then, for the St. Cross (my college) XXX sub-fusc bop the idea is to make your sub-fusc a bit more risque and then dance for four hours straight. this is supposedly a part of your education.
