Transcript, Memories of Barbara Joan Bermingham Schenk about her youth in England,
Morning of 13 July 2007, Connecticut
“Well [the aunts] lived together in the beginning. Then when my grandfather died, everything changed. And I remember when they were taking the furniture out of the dining room thinking, things are never going to be the same again. At Wolfdale I could go in the dining room, and they alternated fireplaces between the sitting room and the dining room so no where got too damp, and I’d sit in front of the fire and read old Good Housekeeping magazines [little laugh] and eat lumped sugar out of the sideboard. That was on rainy days.”
